Prehistoric Gaming

Once upon a time before Super Mario Brothers was even a twinkle in a developer's eye, there was Pinball. This was how we entertained ourselves. This is a shot inside the Pinball Hall of Fame on Tropicana.

Super Bowl XLIV

Today is the long awaited Super Bowl. The Colts vs The Saints, it promises to be quite an exciting game. I'm rooting for Peyton Manning and the Colts to win, however if Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints win that's cool too. The halftime show's headliner will be The Who (one of my favorite bands. Yesterday we went to the Pinball Hall of Fame and I saw this Pinball Wizard machine I thought this would be a good post for today.

Go Red for Women 2010

Today is national Go Red Day, Americans are wearing red to draw attention to heart disease in women. I shot this red dress out at Las Las Vegas, I thought it looked alot like the Heart Association's red dress. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

For the Birds

Parrots outside of Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, at the Flamingo on the Strip. You can get your picture taken with them on your shoulder. They don't seemed to get spooked by all the curious onlookers.

NSEA

This shot is an emblem on the side of an old TV Repair van. Yes, that's right your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. A TV Repair van . Remember those? Remember when people used to repair things instead of throwing things away? Yeah, it seems like eons ago.

This was at the Clark County Heritage Museum, notice the atomic symbol.

No,No

Shot on the Strip near the Riviera. So just what kind of a job do you suppose one would be seeking in front of a casino? Discuss amongst yourselves.

Speaking of jobs today is our company get together at RedRock's Bowling Alley and you know who is going to document it.

Flamingo Fountain

The flamingo fountain at none other than the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. This shot reminds me of one of my favorite 80's TV shows Miami Vice. It could have been part of the opening Miami Vice theme. You couldn't start your weekend until after you watched Crockett and Tubbs on Friday night! Happy Friday, have a great weekend!

Elvis Bling

Why settle for plain old Mardi Gras beads when you can have Mardi Gras beads with an Elvis whose hips swing. I'm wondering how that would look with my Irish Princess Tiara...

Irish Princess

More bling! A tiara just for me, at the Big Balls kiosk. I'll have to buy one and wear on one of my photowalks.

Big Balls

This kiosk is outside at the Carnival Court between Harrah's and Imperial Palace. I thought these Big Balls party beads would be appropriate since the New Orleans Saints (home of Mardi Gras and Mardi Gras Beads) are going to play in their First Super Bowl ever.

The salesman kept trying to sell them to the many "buzzed" people who came by to try them on. It seems that while many people want Big Balls but are not willing to pay for them. Go figure.

While we are still on the subject of Big Balls tune into American Idol tonight, and check out the Los Angeles auditions. Yes know I said I don't watch it, but it was filmed at my cousin's hotel, the Marina Del Rey Marriott! I've got to check it out.

Animal Planet on the Strip

Animal Planet has been here in Las Vegas since last Sunday filming Venom in Vegas. They set up this plexi glass house, where Wild Recon star Daivd Schultz has been living since then and will continue to live with 100 venomous snakes for a total of 10 days. This is a shot of his crew during the question and answer segmentfilming yesterday. I thought it was pretty weak not what I was expecting. I wanted to see 100 snakes attacking him and the star fighting them off like Indiana Jones.

So there was none of that. What was I thinking? Anyway you can check it Venom in Vegas at O'Shea's Casino on the Strip.

Rockin' it on the Strip!

Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip, this is the second Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas. This second location open September of last year and was an instant hit. Speaking of hits how about the "Pants on the ground, pants on the ground looking like a fool with you pants on the ground"hit. The runaway American Idol audition hit, written and performed by General Larry Platt. You don't have to be an American Idol fan (which I am not) to know this song or the General.

Low Lying Clouds

With all the rain we've been getting the mountains around the valley have been getting snow. This is Sheep Mountain Range, which doesn't get as much snow at the Spring Valley Mountain Range. I grabbed my dog Suzy and we drove over to the model airplane park, to check out these low clouds. Late yesterday about 5 o'clock just before sunset.

This was plastered on abandoned Downtown store on Sixth Street just off Fremont Street. What caught my eye was the bright, happy colors. Ok, it was the bacon. And I love bacon.

Pawn Star

Your eyes are not deceiving you, this is a line waiting to get in a pawn shop. If you look closely to to the right of the door you'll see there are velvet robes. And you thought velvet robes were just for night clubs! What's the big fuss you say? It's not just any pawn shop it's The Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, for crying out loud it's the History Channel's hit reality show Pawn Stars!

I've only seen the show once or twice, it's pretty good. I was in this shop once over the summer, when I decided see if I could hunt down some camera gear. I remember it smelled old and musty like my Grandmother's closet. They didn't have any camera gear but had a lot of jewelry. Maybe I should hock something...and I could be a Pawn Star...

2010 Year of the Tiger

2010 is the year of the Tiger according to the Chinese calendar. Each year in January the Bellagio 's Conservatory has a Chinese New Year display. As with every other seasonal and holiday display it is fabulous. I was born in the year of the Tiger, so I'm thinking this is going to be a good year for me.
